New year

March 4th, 2015

Welcome back Harris!

After a long, fun break we’re back to school for 2015! Already Mrs Gregory is hard at work with the choir preparing for Young Voices and Year 6 are hard at work preparing for SATs. So what were the highlights of 2014? Well we had the Christmas Concert at the Guild Hall, the juniors had their 10 pieces film at the cinema, the infants obviously had their successful Nativity ‘A Midwife Crisis’ and of course we had many other fun highlights of the year. So I wonder whether we can top last year with this year!?

On Wednesday the 11th of February, the Harris netball A team went to Brockholes Wood and won an amazing 15 – nil. The game was tough and Brockholes , who were playing for the first time, did an amazing job. Thank You to Brockholes for having us and also to everyone for coming and doing great a job.

Netball V Longsands Primary

November 13th, 2014

Ahhh Longsands, our very closest rivals.
A mixed report on the night; two matches, A and B teams, played in wind and fairly dark circumstances. The A team lost to Longsands 8-2, who displayed superb shooting skills and the B team managed to grasp a well-earned 1-4 victory.

Well played ladies. Thanks again to those who helped with transport or came to support our school.

We played another two exciting matches away at Highfield Priory. Our A team won 3:5 and our B team also won 1:9. Thank you to all the mums and Dads who either helped with transportation or came to support our girls, it is lovely to see so many!

Well done to our Netball Team!

October 8th, 2014

September 4th, 2014

Our school choir has always been a major success we have been to young voices, UCLAN, Green field nursing home and now we have been invited to sing at the guild hall on the 6th  December 2014. This is very exciting as we now have lots of keen year threes to help us.

Harris got talent

July 22nd, 2014

This years Harris got talent was yet again a success. It all kicked off in the classrooms, where most the class auditioned for a place in the final! Unfortunately we couldn’t send them all through otherwise it would’ve gone until midnight! When it came to the final the school was literally buzzing with excitement! The night was started by a fabulous cover of “you can’t stop the music” by Harvey ( an ex-student and winner). Then the acts… First was the Candyhearts from year five, then there was loads more extraordinary acts, finally finishing with ABCD also from year five! Whilst the wonderful judges counted the scores we had the the (most anticipated) mystery act! The revolution of dance! Which included a medley of well known dance songs! Then finally, we had the results, with Archie and Ben joint first, ABCD second, and then Jack Barrat coming in third! Overall it was a fantastic success and we can’t wait till next years edition!

Sports Day

May 23rd, 2014

On Wednesday the 21st of July, Harris Primary held yet another successful sports day! The day kicked off with a lap around the track. Next, the infants had their races and the juniors did all the activities that the BBEC students had prepared for us! After lunch, the juniors and infants swapped. Afterwards, we had the relay, unfortunately Beacon dropped the baton, letting Calder win! Finally, we had the results in reverse order- there were 23 points between 1st and 4th! In the end Grizedale won, Calder missing out by 2 points! It was a fantastic successful.
Thank you to all involved.
